Leading a Team Cohort
The Leading a Team Leadership Cohort is an intensive leader development experience in which participants will work on the fundamental skills required to effectively lead a team. This immersive experience includes one-on-one coaching, group coaching, multi-session workshops, and exclusive access to expert leaders in the field.
Learning Goals
After participating in this program, you will be able to:
- Articulate your beliefs and aspirations as a leader
- Identify components of what makes an effective team
- Articulate a clear and compelling vision for your team
- Craft focused and measurable objectives and key results
- Demonstrate skills that encourage psychological safety and trust in a team
Eligibility
- You must be a current undergraduate or graduate student at Rice University
- You must have completed Activation (one-on-one coaching program). If you are a first-year student at Rice, please check out the Leading as a First Year Cohort
Doerr Institute Programs Included
- Synthesis: One semester of group learning on a topic determined by cohort theme
- Activation: Access to three one-on-one coaching conversations
- Two Catalyst modules: Topics to be determined by cohort theme
Session Dates
If you are selected for the 2024-2025 Leading a Team Cohort, you must be available to attend the following sessions. These sessions are scheduled to take place in person.
- Session 1: Thursday, September 26th 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
- Session 2: Thursday, October 10th 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
- Session 3: Thursday, October 24th 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
- Session 4: Thursday, November 7th 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
- Session 5: Thursday, January 23rd, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
- Session 6: Thursday, February 6th, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
- Session 7: Thursday, February 20th, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
- Session 8: Thursday, March 6th, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
- Session 9: TBD
Students selected for this cohort will complete the above programs alongside other members of their assigned cohort. Please note Catalyst modules may include students outside of the assigned cohort.
