A Powerful Place to Start
Work one-on-one with an experienced leadership coach to develop your strengths, understand your blind spots, and build a leadership plan for Rice and beyond.
Perfect for owls who are new to Doerr and for seasoned leaders ready to reflect.
What is Activation?
Activation is a personalized coaching program that helps you uncover your strengths and build a roadmap for your leadership journey.
You’ll meet with a coach throughout the semester to reflect, set goals, and tackle challenges.
- Kick off with a 90-minute one-on-one session to set your goals and dive into your leadership journey
- Discover your strengths through an emotional intelligence assessment
- Follow up with three 60-minute sessions to reflect, tackle challenges, and keep momentum going
- Walk away with a custom leader development plan packed with actionable goals and strategies for success
Time Commitment
4 sessions throughout 1 semester.
Sessions are flexible, virtual or in-person, and always centered on your schedule.
New to Doerr?
Activation is the perfect place to start.
You’ll gain fresh insight into who you are as a leader, define the impact you want to make at Rice, and create a big-picture vision for your growth. As a Rice student, you are able to participate in Activation only once during your four years (with the exception of Student Ambassadors), making it a unique opportunity to invest in early.
Returning to Doerr?
If you’ve already taken other Doerr programs, Activation helps you evaluate where you are now and chart your next steps. It’s especially powerful if you’re currently in a leadership role—you’ll bring real experiences and challenges into your coaching sessions and walk away with strategies you can put into action immediately.
