Director's Cut: Accountability
Hosted by Doerr Institute Director, Bernie Banks, PhD!
The noted author Patrick Lencioni (Five Dysfunctions of a Team) once said “Failing to hold someone accountable is ultimately an act of selfishness." The ability to make success repeatable is highly correlated with the level of accountability present in a situation.
Accountability should be associated with anything and anyone you care about! The module will explore the actions required to foster accountability routinely. It is important to note, accountability is not a trait. It is a skill set that can be learned and integrated into one’s habits. So, we will discuss what does it take to properly create an accountability skillset and mindset.
Here are five questions we will explore in the two module sessions.
- What is accountability?
- What are the stakes associated with accountability?
- What is required to generate accountability?
- What role does culture play in fostering accountability?
- What happens when you seek to increase the level of accountability expected of others?
