Why Don't People Measure Impact?

Most institutions in the leader development space want to know what works and what doesn't, but they simply don't know how to go about measuring the outcomes of their programs.


How Can You Learn to Measure the Impact of Your Programs?   

The Doerr Institute has created a course to help! This virtual course introduces participants to the tools and methods necessary to measure the outcomes of their leader development programs comprehensively.     
Participants will learn to design and implement robust evaluation systems that can tell them what they most need to know: how well do their programs work? 


The course introduces participants to various evaluation techniques, including pre- and post-program assessments, the triangulation approach to evaluation, and the pros and cons of using different types of measures. 
 

Key Topics Include: 

  • Mastering study design: The foundation of effective program evaluation
  • Overcoming challenges in field research
  • Navigating cognitive and social biases in the evaluation process
  • Breaking the law of unintended consequences
  • Harnessing the power of diverse data: A multidimensional approach to assessing program impacts

By the end of this course, participants will be equipped to design a comprehensive evaluation process that not only measures the success of their leadership programs but also provides a roadmap for future enhancements.
 
Whether you are a program director, facilitator, or evaluator, this course will introduce you to the basic knowledge and skills you need to ensure your leadership programs deliver measurable and impactful results.

  • Module 4: Friday, January 31st from 12:00-3:00 PM (CST)
  • Module 5: Friday, February 7th from 12:00-3:00 PM (CST)
  • Module 6: Friday, February 14th from 12:00-3:00 PM (CST)

This is a virtual course only. 


Tuition and Fees

  • $190 for full-time graduate students
  • $390 for full-time faculty or staff at consortium-member colleges or universities
  • $490 for faculty or staff employed in an accredited college, university, or non-profit organization
  • $1990 for anyone not currently employed or enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university or a non-profit
  • Full payment is due by January 3, 2025. 

The above tuition rates do not include the cost of the required textbook, estimated at $25.
