Building Psychological Safety

Psychological safety is foundational for great teams.

Amy Edmondson, the Novartis Professor of Leadership and Management at the Harvard Business School, defines psychological safety as the shared belief held by members of a team that the team is safe for interpersonal risk-taking. It makes perfect sense, but fostering this environment requires a leader with specific attitudes, beliefs, and skills. In this module, participants will reflect on their own beliefs about failure and explore a three-part model for fostering the psychological safety needed to accomplish strong outcomes.
