Gary Garrett is the Program Manager at the Doerr Institute for New Leaders at Rice University, where he manages the operations of student leader development programs and designs streamlined systems to support the Institute’s mission of elevating the leadership capacity of Rice students and advancing the practice of leader development in higher education.

In addition to his role at the Doerr Institute, Gary serves on Rice University's Staff Council, where he advocates for and highlights expanded professional development opportunities for staff and works to foster a more connected and empowered campus community.

Prior to joining Rice, Gary was a Client Support Team Supervisor at Ibex Global, where he led a team of support professionals and developed training and operations guides to improve efficiency and service quality.

Gary holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of Texas at Austin. Outside of work, he enjoys running along Buffalo Bayou, camping in Texas state parks, and capturing the Houston skyline through his photography.
