Coaching Opportunities on Campus

As a leadership coach, you’ll work one-on-one with Rice University students, guiding them to discover their unique leadership potential and empowering them to achieve their personal and professional goals.

Coaching at the Doerr Institute is rooted in evidence-based practices and emphasizes fostering self-awareness, goal setting, and accountability. By building a supportive, non-judgmental partnership with students, you’ll help them unlock their strengths, navigate challenges, and grow into confident, capable leaders.

Whether you’re supporting a student as they take on a campus leadership role, tackle a complex project, or prepare for their future career, your work as a coach will have a lasting impact. Coaching Opportunities with CoachRICE

Lead Facilitator Summary: The Lead Facilitator supports each cohort member and their learning journey throughout the program.

Lead Facilitator Detailed Description: The Lead Facilitator supports each cohort member and their learning journey throughout the program by facilitating all four learning modules. The Lead Facilitator works to create a safe and supportive learning environment and to connect with the participants throughout their CoachRICE experience.

Co-Facilitator Summary: The Co-Facilitators connect with the Lead Facilitator to support each cohort member and their learning journey during their assigned program Module.
Co-Facilitator Detailed Description: The Co-Facilitators connect with the Lead Facilitator to support each cohort member and their learning journey during their assigned program Module. Co-Facilitators work to expand participants’ understanding of what coaching looks like and provide a diversity of perspectives on coaching, so they are exposed to different perspectives and approaches

Mentor Coach Summary: Following the Module experience, Mentor Coaches support each cohort member and their learning journey through group and one-on-one Mentor Coaching sessions.

Mentor Coach Detailed Description: Following the Module experience, Mentor Coaches support each cohort member and their learning journey through group and one-on-one Mentor Coaching sessions. Mentor Coaches support participants as the hone their coaching skills and provide a collaborative environment to discuss successes and growth opportunities

Observer Coach Summary: Observer Coaches support each cohort member and their learning journey through live coaching observation and feedback.

Observer Coach Detailed Description: Observer Coaches support each cohort member and their learning journey through live coaching observation and feedback provided after the first Module. Observer Coaches will sit in on a live coaching session for groups of up to three participants and provide feedback on the ICF Core Competencies that have been covered up until that point in the program. This feedback will support participants as they practice the ICF Core Competencies and set them up for success as they prepare their coaching session recording for the final performance evaluation.

Assessor Summary: Assessors support each cohort member and their learning journey through assessment of coaching skills on each final submitted recording.

Assessor Detailed Description: Assessors support each cohort member and their learning journey through assessment of coaching skills on each final submitted recording. Assessors will review a coaching session recording and transcript to assess the participant’s coaching skills and ensure that they are ready to become ACC coaches.
