Brooklyn Holt, a Presidential Scholar ‘19, graduated summa cum laude from Auburn University’s Honors College with a degree in journalism and a minor in business administration. Following graduation, she took on the role of digital marketing and communications specialist for The Doerr Institute for New Leaders at Rice University in Houston, Texas, where she currently manages internal and external communications and marketing efforts. While working at Rice, she has obtained a Project Management Certificate at Cornell University, was named to the inaugural Auburn College of Liberal Arts "30 Under 30" class, and was selected as the alumna speaker for the 2021 Auburn Honors College Freshmen Induction Ceremony.
Before joining the Doerr Institute team, Brooklyn was heavily involved at Auburn University serving in roles like Honors College Ambassador, Miss Auburn University 2017, a supplemental pre-calculus instructor, and working as a student employee for the Honors College, Office of Undergraduate Research, and The Biggio Center for the Advancement of Teaching & Learning. She also twirled as a Majorette in the Auburn University Marching Band and pursued internships with Southwest Airlines and the State of Alabama Governor’s Office.
In her spare time, Brooklyn enjoys mountain biking, meal prepping for friends, and listening to music. She hopes to one day visit all national parks and possibly travel the world on The Amazing Race with her husband, Trevor Spengeman.
